After five years of consistently writing to you and this amazing community, I stopped. Cold turkey. But I’ve missed you – so I’m back! I’m Not Dead, I Can’t
Quit.

How have you been? I hope you’re collecting summer memories; writing or recording in some way the stories of what’s happening for you this summer, this year. Time flies by and all too soon you can’t remember the details.

Here’s how my friend Laura is managing to remember her summer adventure. She has just passed the halfway point on her hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, all 2600 miles or 4,184 kilometres of it!

Her facebook and Instagram (laurahiking) posts are her record of her journey (and we get to follow along). She is recording her adventure one post at a time and when she gets home she will be able to export it into an amazing legacy book.

There are many memories that she will never forgot. She wrote today that her feet have increased in size from 9 to 10.5 – that’s incredible. Okay so she might
always remember that her feet grew, especially if they don’t shrink back. Stay tuned!

I hope you know by now that memory collecting doesn’t need to be BIG events like Laura’s. Celebrate the small but wonderful things in your life and the lives of people important to you. A few years ago we created a life story poster for Laura’s family.

One project we are working on right now is about an Italian family who immigrated to Canada in the 1950’s. The father brought his wood working tools and we are including images of all of them as well as many pieces of furniture that he made for the family over many years.

Precious memories of a regular extraordinary guy. I’m sure you know of someone like that. We love to help families celebrate their family story, their family history. Let me know if you need some help.
