“When we knew that our brother was going to die, we promised him that we would pass his stories on to his young son. It was a big promise. None of us knew all the stories and in our grief, we didn’t know how to collect, preserve or present them. This process has allowed us to honour our promise to our brother. It was helpful for our family to have kind, competent outsiders collect and collate the stories, and to oversee the flow and layout of the book. Through this process we created a beautiful keep sake for the whole family, which has inspired us to collect yet more family history.”
